Amy Springsteel
Assistant Vice President at Voya Financial, Corporate Responsibility
Amy works in the Office of Corporate Responsibility at Voya Financial® (formerly ING U.S.), a leading provider of retirement, insurance and investment management products and services. Amy works to drive the company’s triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) by helping to ensure the company’s impact as a contributing force in society and environmental protection. She creates and implements corporate responsibility strategy, methodology and policies for aligning CR with the company’s business objectives, integrating them into the brand and disseminating them throughout the enterprise. She is responsible for identifying business risks and opportunities using the CR lens, driving the development of sustainable products and services, leading CR reporting and ESG disclosures, assisting with enterprise-wide CR leveraging, and developing select philanthropic partnerships.
Prior to her position at Voya Financial, she worked as a client service director and strategist in the sustainability communications practice at Addison Design and formerly operated her own consultancy, Competitive Edge Consulting Associates, Inc. (CECA). Her vast background spans across numerous sectors such as corporate, public, non-profit and political with a select client roster, including General Electric (GE), PepsiCo, Deloitte, IBM, The Princeton Review, the New York State Department of Banking, the New York City Agency for Child Development, Benjamin for U.S. Senate, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Boys Choir of Harlem.
Amy is a member of the Junior Achievement of New York board of directors, the AccountAbility AA1000 Standards Board and the Florida State University Sustainability Alumni Council. As a former volunteer manager, she helped drive the New York Corporate Social Responsibility Meetup networking organization’s membership to more than 1,000 members. She holds SASB Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Level I, Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights/Columbia University Sustainable Investing, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Kaplan Eduneering Sustainability Professional certifications. She earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from The Florida State University.
